We are currently looking for a Technical Assistant (m/f/d) for our medicinal chemistry department in Dortmund

Your responsibilities:

  • Planning and preparation of the synthesis of novel organic compounds for testing as potential drugs
  • Carrying out syntheses across broad areas of organic chemistry
  • Purification of synthesis products (e.g. automated flash column chromatography, preparative HPLC, recrystallization, etc.)
  • Identification and purity determination, e.g. using LC-MS, GC-MS, NMR spectroscopy, etc.
  • Care and maintenance of relevant equipment
  • Recording and documenting test procedures and results

Your qualifications:

  • Completed training as a Chemical Laboratory Assistant, Chemical Technical Assistant, or equivalent
  • Sound practical experience in a broad range of organic chemistry (various compound classes, syntheses in the milligramme to multigramme range, inert conditions, low-temperature reactions, purifications) as well as in analytical techniques (NMR, LC-MS, GC-MS)
  • An understanding of basic organic reactions (e.g. oxidation, reduction, catalyzed crosscouplings, cycloadditions, enolate chemistry, etc.)
  • Commitment and enthusiasm when solving any problems that occur
  • Excellent team player and willing to learn
  • A good working knowledge of current chemical drawing programmes and MS Office software (Word, Excel); familiarity with SciFinder is an advantage
  • Good communications skills and good English

We are currently looking for a Technical Assistant (m/f/d); Biological Technical Assistant, Medical Technical Assistant, Bachelor or Master to support our antibody team at our Planegg branch near Munich

Your responsibilities:

  • Establishing and carrying out assays (ELISA, flow cytometry, etc.) for quantitative profiling of therapeutic antibody candidates
  • Screening of hybridoma und E. coli (phage display) cell culture supernatants
  • Characterization of antigens
  • Cell biological studies of proliferation, apoptosis, cell cycle, cell growth, etc.
  • Transfection/infection of mammalian cells for protein expression
  • Molecular biological work with antibodies/antibody fragments

Your qualifications:

  • Bachelor or Master of Science or, alternatively, completed training as a Biological Technical Assistant, Medical Technical Assistant or Biological Laboratory Assistant with a focus on cell biology, molecular biology and/or biochemistry
  • Solid knowledge of molecular and cell biology methods
  • Ideally 2 years‘ experience in an industrial environment or in applied and translational research
  • An interest in biological questions
  • Enthusiasm for teamwork
  • Good understanding of MS-Office software (Excel) is an advantage
  • The ability to work independently and reliably

We currently have one vacancy as Specialist Protein Engineering (m/w/d); PhD/M.Sc. in our Antibody department located in Planegg/Munich

Your responsibilities:

  • Small and medium scale expression and purification of proteins in mammalian cell culture
  • Create and improve processes/infrastructure for antibody/protein expression and purification
  • Quality control of proteins especially antibodies and related formats
  • Antibody sequence analysis and modification for improved biophysical properties (affinity, stability, etc);
  • VH/VL cloning and generation of antibody libraries
  • Antibody characterization by ELISA, FACS, cellular assays etc.

Your qualifications:

  • Master of Science /PhD or equivalent
  • more than 2 years extensive hands on working experience with recombinant protein production and purification in mammalian cells
  • experience with display methods and antibody engineering is a plus
  • self-dependent in an industrial environment
  • team player
  • proven ability to effectively plan and organize work activities to meet schedules and deadlines
  • fluent German speaker and good knowledge of English

Your responsibilities:

  • Writing and developing various communications documents
  • Editing and alteration of communications to required specifications and to timelines
  • Preparation of scientific reports, coordination of editing and revisions
  • Provision of editorial support for project related materials
  • Work with scientific and administrative team members
  • Conduct of literature searches of relevant material
  • Proficient use of internet searches including PubMed

Your qualifications:

  • Life Science specialist (Msc, PhD), basic knowledge of drug discovery, with a passion for writing
  • Excellent written and verbal English/German language, attention to detail and editorial standards
  • Experience in scientific writing, strong writing and reviewing skills
