Thanks to its shareholder structure, which is based on a foundation and a sustainable financing concept, the Lead Discovery Center GmbH (a limited liability company) can operate independent and with an entrepreneurial approach, yet largely autonomous from the short-term investment rules of capital markets.
Open to projects from various partners
The LDC is open to cooperate with various research organizations, universities and companies looking for professional drug discovery support to advance their promising early-stage projects.
Innovation and an urgent medical need are the most important acceptance criteria for new projects. At this early stage, know-how is fully sufficient, a patent application is not yet a prerequisite.
Together with the project partner the LDC drafts a tailored project plan, project strategy and funding concept. The prospects of such an LDC collaboration project are greatly improved through the active participation of all project partners according to their specific expertise. Moreover, all partners benefit from LDC’s vast network. This includes an Industrial Advisory Board made up of senior industry representatives of five major pharmaceutical companies.
