After only three years of existence, the LDC has provided its own proof of concept through a number of success stories, thereby confirming its mission and strategy.

The LDC has already concluded three projects successfully with the generation of lead series that demonstrate initial proof of concept in animal models and meet all required lead criteria. - Industry cooperation with Merck
The cooperation agreement between the LDC and Merck KGaA, announced in January 2011, validates the vitality of the LDC concept: in close collaboration between industry, LDC and academia, the results from excellent basic research are advanced with joint efforts into industrial applications and the development of new drugs. - First LDC lead licensed to Bayer The licensing agreement between LDC and Bayer Schering Pharma AG, signed in April 2011, is an important milestone for the LDC. It demonstrates that the LDC is capable to deliver the aimed high quality standards and that LDC’s lead structures are attractive licensing assets for the pharmaceutical industry. Bayer will continue to develop the LDC lead structure with the goal to advance a product into clinical development and a marketed product in the field of oncology.
