Sustainable financing concept
With its sophisticated, market-focused approach to drug discovery, the LDC is set to generate substantial revenues in the long term for stakeholders and partners from licensing agreements with industry. Funding of day-to-day operations, however, will be based on various sources, including private investments, donations, government subsidies and, in particular, project-based funding from the Max Planck Society and other institutions that enter into drug discovery partnerships with the LDC.
Providing a new level of quality in drug discovery
Without being tied to the rules of capital markets – which typically demand short-term returns on investment – the team will thus be able to allocate the time and resources to individual projects that are needed to unlock their full potential.
